Frequently Asked Questions

Why is there a membership fee?

The membership fee allows us to provide the majority of primary care in an innovative way for a simple, fixed price. It allows members to better budget their health care finances and helps our practice provide the services we offer at affordable prices.

Why would I pay "extra" fees for health care?

The membership fee is better thought of as a more affordable and efficient way to access primary care. Most members will save money by combining Advanced Life Care with a high-deductible health insurance or medical cost sharing plan when compared to traditional insurance models.

Will I have to pay a fee/copay for my visit?

No, in a nutshell your membership covers all of your office visits. There will only be a small additional charge if you need any labwork or diagnostic testing outside of our clinic.

Can I just have a visit without becoming a member?

No, we do not provide visits or care outside of our standard membership system. However, if you would like to come check out our clinic and meet Amanda Cordero, CRNP before joining, we would be happy to arrange and answer any questions.

Are there any contracts or commitments? What if I decide to cancel?

We do not require members to sign any contracts that commit them to a certain period. Memberships are ongoing and open but must be paid ongoing in order to maintain service with us. If your membership lapses or you cancel and you would like to renew your membership with us there is a re-registration fee of $200.

Is this “concierge” medicine?

A little, but without the high price tag or insurance requirements. We provide a concierge level of service to all members but try to make things affordable for people of all incomes, with or without insurance.

How does insurance work in this form of healthcare? Do I still need it?

Insurance should cover all the outside testing, referrals to specialists and hospitalizations you may require. We are not participating in any insurance billing, including Medicare and Medicaid. If you have a Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending plan, your membership fee MAY be covered under these savings plans. Check with your plan administrator and/or accountant to determine your benefit eligibility.

Are there any income or health guidelines for becoming a member?

No, we do NOT have any income or health guidelines to become a member. Our fees are the same regardless of income, insurance arrangement, level of health or utilization of our services.

What if I am healthy? and rarely go to the doctor?

That is great! Our primary focus is to keep members well and to avoid lots of "medical" care. As such, we can dedicate more time to prevention and lifestyle issues to continue to keep you away from the expensive, cumbersome health care system. However, when you do need care, we are available to help get you back on track. Most of the unexpected trips to the ER or urgent care can easily be covered in a same day visit at Advanced Life Care, often saving the member enough to justify the cost of a year worth of membership fees!
